Yield: Makes about 1 1/2 cups

Ingredients:
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
4 large shallots, minced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon seasoned pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup olive oil

Directions:

  • Whisk together balsamic vinegar and next 6 ingredients in a small bowl until blended
  • Gradually add olive oil, whisking constantly until blended.

Note: 1 cup packed fresh basil leaves yields about 1/2 cup chopped.
