Ingredients:
3/4 cup good-quality balsamic vinegar
2 1/2 – 3 teaspoons light brown sugar
1/4 cup ( 1/2 stick) unsalted butter
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper

Directions:

  • In a small saucepan over high heat, bring the vinegar to a boil.
  • Boil until reduced to 3 tablespoons, 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 2-1/2 teaspoons of the brown sugar.
  • Stir in the butter until melted.
  • Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. (If a sweeter glaze is desired, stir in the remaining 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar.)
