Ingredients:
1 1/2 C flour
1 t baking soda
1 C sugar
2 T cocoa
1/2 C melted butter
1 beaten egg
1 C buttermilk
Icing Ingredients:
4 T butter
1 C sugar
1/4 C cocoa
1/4 C sweet milk

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Sift flour, baking soda, sugar and cocoa together
  • Add melted butter, egg, and buttermilk
  • Pour into greased 9×13 pan and bake until done
  • Put icing ingredients into a pan
  • Bring to a boil
  • Boil for one minute only
  • Beat until it is a spreading consistency
  • Spread on slightly cooled cake
