Ingredients:
1 1/2 C Elbow Macaroni
3 T Butter
2 T All-purpose Flour
1/2 t Salt
Dash of Black Pepper
2 C Milk
1/4 C Chopped Onion (optional)
8 oz Cheddar Cheese
Directions:
Cook elbow macaroni per directions; drain
Melt butter in saucepan
Blend flour, salt and pepper
Add to melted butter and mix
Add milk
Stir until thick and bubbly
Add onions (optional) and shredded or cubed cheese
Stir until melted
Mix Cheese sauce with macaroni and put in a 1 1/2 quart oven proof casserole dish
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes
